Arthur was born Saturday, Nov. 1, 1941 to the late Arthur James Kiel and Myrtle Luevern Coats Kiel in Coffeeville. A graduate of the Clarke County Training School in 1963, he continued his education by attending the Carver State Vocational Technical School in Mobile, graduating in 1965 with a certification in auto mechanics.

Arthur and Brady grew up as friends and their relationship developed throughout high school. Ultimately, their love matured, and they were married on Nov. 20, 1970. Arthur and his wife moved to Detroit, Mich., where he was employed by Chevrolet Gear and Axle for 35 years in various positions until his retirement in 2005.

Arthur’s spiritual foundation began at Coffeeville Church of God in Christ. After moving to Detroit, Mich., his walk with Christ was strengthened through his dedicated service at Brotherly Love Church of God in Christ leading to his ordination as Deacon on May 3, 2000. After 38 years in Michigan, he returned to his home in Alabama and continued his faith walk serving as a Deacon at Coffeeville Church of God in Christ from 2011 until his death. All who knew him, knew him as a man of his word, knew he loved God and family passionately, and lived life peacefully, hunting, fishing and watching Gunsmoke.
