Arthur “James” McBride, 85, of Elkhart, formerly of Osceola, passed away at Riverside Village on Wednesday, November 13, 2019. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland on August 23, 1934 to the late George and Sophie (Krukowski) McBride.
Jamie is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Kay McBride; beloved daughters, Barbara McBride and Michelle McBride; stepsons, Dale and Dion LaGrand; granddaughters, Lindsey Groszer and Chelsea Mondrach; 7 step grandchildren and 12 step great grandchildren. Jamie and his granddaughter, Ta’Niah Donnelly, shared a special bond since she had been a part of his household for many years. He is also survived by a brother, Mickey (Bernadette) McBride. Jamie is preceded in death by his parents and brother, George McBride.
Jamie worked at the Damon Corporation for many years in shipping and receiving. To anyone who had known him, they would have said that Jamie was a kind, loving, and considerate person. He was very outgoing, had a big heart, and would do anything to help anyone who was in need. Jamie enjoyed gardening. His family always looked to him for his soothing manner and calming words of wisdom. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
