Arthur and Christine had previously resided in North Smithfield for thirty-five years where they raised their children. Born in Millis, MA he was a son of the late John and Naomi (McKee) Purkis. Arthur was a commercial insurance underwriter for several companies including The Hartford Insurance Co., Royal Insurance Co., CNA Insurance Co., Travelers Insurance, and EMC Insurance. During his career, Arthur achieved his CPCU designation.
Besides his wife he leaves his son, Mark A. Purkis and wife Stephanie of Hudson, MA; his daughter, Amanda L. Purkis of Cumberland, RI; siblings, John “Jack” Purkis of TN, Alan Purkis of Wrentham, MA, Susan Purkis of Acton, ME, and Gail Purkis of Upton, MA, two grandchildren, Riley and Olivia and several nieces and nephews.
