Col. Fitch was predeceased by his beloved wife of 54 years, Lillian Nancy Guadagno, in 2003. They met at the University of Chicago after WWII, where they were both employed at the Argonne National Laboratory doing nuclear research. He is survived by his children, Kathy (Ted) Weiss of Miami, Florida; James Arthur Fitch of Pawley’s Island, South Carolina; and Leslie (Matthew) Meyers of Parrish, Florida; and grandchildren Captain Samuel Weiss, M.D. (USAF) and Hannah Weiss, and Emily and Zachary Meyers.
