Arthur E. Adamy, 87, of Manchester, beloved husband to Alice (Daniels) Adamy, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 11, 2017, with his family by his side after a long courageous battle with cancer. The son of the late John and Katherine Adamy was born October 22, 1929 in Manchester where he remained a lifelong resident. Art was a veteran of the US Army serving his country during the Korean War, and was honorably discharged having earned the rank of Master Sergeant. He was employed for over 35 years by the Traveler’s Insurance Company until his retirement in 1989. Not ready to fully retire, he enjoyed working part-time at Highland Park Market in Manchester for the next 12 years. He was pre-deceased by his three brothers; Walter, Edward, and Clifford Adamy and his sister Helen Kasputis. In addition to his wife Alice of 52 years, Art is survived by his three daughters and two sons-in-law: Donna and Rick Pallotti of Ellington, Diane and Russ Turner of Ellington, and Cheryl Grandville of Manchester and his six loving grandchildren: Nick, Alex and Alyssa Pallotti, Jared and Jordyn Turner, and Kaili Grandville. Art’s strong heart and giving nature will be sorely missed by all who knew him, loved him, and were forever changed by his presence.
