Arthur “Art” Donald Winter, 93, passed away peacefully at his home at Chancellor Gardens at Clearfield Assisted Living Facility.

Art was born December 10, 1927 to Louis Julius Winter and Jane Marie Vincent in their home in Salt Lake City.  He was the youngest of seven children.  He participated in youth boxing at the YMCA and was awarded a champion certificate in the 65-pound weight class.  He graduated from West High School and participated in ROTC.  He joined the Army in 1950 during the Korean War.

After discharge from the Army, Art married Elizabeth Eloise Evans and they had five children together, Arthur L. “Rusty”, Robert, David, S. Paul, and Karen.  They were later divorced.

Art was employed as a warehouseman at Hill Air Force Base and retired after 32 years of service.

Art enjoyed fishing, hunting, model railroading, and going to the movies with his friends.

Art was preceded in death by his parents and all of his siblings.  He is survived by his children, Arthur L. “Rusty” (Christine), Robert (Jill), David (Gayle), S. Paul, and Karen Chambers.  Art has 19 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

The family offers heartfelt thanks to the staff and caregivers of Chancellor Gardens at Clearfield Assisted Living Facility, and to Korie of Atlas Home Care and Hospice whose kindness and commitment were extraordinary.
