Arthur B. “Art” Williams, 89, of Grandview, formerly of Moberly, died Sunday, May 8, 2016, at his home.  Arthur was born October 26, 1926, in Moberly to John B. and Ruth (Burge) Williams.

Art served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a fire control operator.  Prior to retirement he worked for Kansas City Power and Light from 1948 to 1985.  He was a volunteer fireman and a volunteer deputy constable.

His life from 1968 until the present time was to serve the Lord Jesus Christ.  He attended Genessee Gospel Assembly, Moberly Gospel Assembly, and most recently Arborknoll Gospel Assembly.  He and his wife bought several motor homes to transport God’s people free gratis to many church conventions.

Art married Shirley Dooley on May 30, 1948 in Kansas City, KS, and she survives of the home.  Also surviving are a daughter, Connie Scott and husband Kenny of Grandview; a son Terry Williams and wife Sue of Independence; three grandchildren, Bobby and wife Dana, Scott, and Jason; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons; an older brother John Williams of Mexico, MO;  other relatives and friends.
