Arthur B. Twardowski, 80, of Peru, died October 19, 2006 at Illinois Valley Community Hospital, Peru after an extended illness.

He was born May 8, 1926 in Peru to Teofil and Catherine (Strozewski) Twardowski. He worked at Westclox for 37 years in the Quality Control Engineering Department and he retired from the State of Illinois Department of the Lottery. He graduated from Bradley University School of Horology and was a Certified Master Watchmaker. He served in the Army during WWII with the 89th Cavalry and the 9th Armored Division. He married Rosemary J. Weiland on July 3, 1950 in St. Josephs Church, Peru. He was a member of the Peru Veterans Memorial Post #8232, the N.R.A., and was a past Republican Precinct Committeman.

He is survived by: His wife, of Peru; 1 son, James W. (Faith) Twardowski of Houston, TX; 1 daughter, Susan K. (Jim) Pettit of Granville; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Helen (Frank) Cass of Peru, Virg (William) Radke of Peru, Dolores (Arnold) Gilman of South Bend, IN; and nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded by: 4 brothers, Frank, Harry, Leonard, and Donald; 1 sister, Gert Jerman.
