Arol L. Lawler, age 77 of Pearl City, IL, died Monday, February 25, 2013 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport, IL. He was born December 2, 1935, the son of Howard and Pearl (Shippy) Lawler. He was a 1952 graduate of Dakota High School.
Arol married Barbara Kuehl on May 31, 1958 in Dakota, IL; she died on March 19, 2004. He had served in the United States Army.Arol began his banking career in the mail room at the First State Bank of Freeport, he then moved up to teller and then to president of the State Bank of Pearl City in 1969.
He retired in 2000. He was a member of the Lions Club, LGR Investment Club, and the Eagles Club. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan. He enjoyed golfing, gambling, and watching his grandchildren playing sports.
He is survived by his daughter, Jill Lawler of Freeport, IL; two sons, David “Howie” (Lori) and Mark (Kelly) both of Pearl City; six grandchildren, Carrie Hass, Chad Sandell, Cale Sandell, Megan Lawler, Nicole Lawler, and Dalton Lawler; seven great grandchildren, Brooke, Ben, Abby, Gaby, Emalyn, Kallan, and Piper; and three sisters, Levon (Ransom) Fehr of Freeport, Loraine (Harold) Toelke of Dakota, and Donna Jean (Don) Wilson of Rock City, IL.
He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
