SOUTHBURY- Arnold N. Leibowitz, 81, of Southbury, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Pearl (Rosenfeld) Leibowitz.

Mr. Leibowitz was born December 11, 1927 in Bronx, NY, son of the late Harry and Lillian (Edelstein) Leibowitz. He has resided in Southbury for 19 years, previously living in Howard Beach, NY. Mr. Leibowitz was a general manager having managed several transformer companies in New York and New Jersey. He was a member of B’Nai Israel Synagogue in Southbury and was a US Army Peacetime veteran.

Mr. Leibowitz enjoyed his family and grandchildren and settled in Southbury to be closer to them. In his 19 years of retirement, he enjoyed stained glass work and playing tennis. He was also a supporter of the local youth through sports organizations.

Besides his wife of 59 years, he leaves a son, Mitchell Leibowitz and his wife Susan of Princeton, NJ, two daughters, Amy Dumoch and her husband Stan of Woodbury and Karen Leibowitz of Rockaway, NJ, a brother Marvin Leibowitz of Israel, three grandchildren, Adam Dumoch and his fiancé©e Kym Miller, Alison Dumoch and her fiancé© Nathan Roberts and Joshua Dumoch and his girlfriend Kristen Miller and several nieces and nephews.
