Arnold Hilmer, 78, of Green Forest, AR entered into rest on December 19, 2011 with his family by his side. He was born on May 29th 1933 at Boelus, Nebraska to the late Edward and Dora (Seary) Hilmer. Arnold graduated with the class of 1951 at Boelus High School in Boelus, Nebraska. On August 8th 1954 he was united in marriage with Marjorie Rubesh, the love of his life. They lived in Nebraska and later in California. In 1975 they moved to Green Forest and settled on a farm outside of town. Arnold was employed at Town & Country Lumber Yard in Berryville for a number of years and retired from Berryville Wal-Mart in May 2011. His hobbies were woodworking, horses, farming and bowling. He enjoyed his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Arnold is survived by daughters, Cindy and her husband Terry Schaecher of Berryville, Coleen Powell of Green Forest, Cheryl and her husband Mike Townsand of Butler, Missouri, sons, Ron and his wife Vanda Hilmer of California, Randy and his wife Kris Hilmer of Van Buren, Arkansas, two brothers, Edward and wife Edna Hilmer of Nebraska, Walt Hilmer of Nebraska , one sister, Dorathy and her husband Ron Obermeier of Nebraska, 14 grandchildren and 9 Great-grandchildren. Arnold was preceded by his wife Marjorie in 2011 and his parents.
