Armando R. Correia, 88, of Newington, beloved husband of Clementina (Piedade) Correia, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2016. Born in Aljubarrota, Portugal, on April 9, 1928, he was the son of the late Joaquim and Monica (Ribeiro) Correia. He came to the United States in 1967 and lived in Hartford for many years before settling in Newington. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, the Portuguese Club of Hartford, the Laborers Local Union #230, and loved being in the company of friends and family. He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed spending time in his beautiful gardens. Alongside his wife, left to honor and cherish his memory are his daughter, Maria Fatima Portal and her husband Antonio of Berlin, his son, Lucio Correia and his wife Linda of Newington, his three grandchildren, Amanda and Daniel Portal and Alexandra Correia, and his sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews in the United States and Portugal. His family would like to thank the remarkable staff at Newington Rapid Recovery Center for their love, support and friendship over the past years.
