Armand E. “Dutch” Staccone, 88, of South Williamsport, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, at Rose View Center.
Born Jan. 7, 1923, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Phillip and Valentina Dinoble Staccone.
Dutch served in the Army Air Corp during World War II, and was a member of the DuBoistown VFW No. 7863. He worked for the Reading Railroad for many years and retired from Bethlehem Steel. Dutch was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Ascension Church.
Dutch enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a life member of the Red Run Rod and Gun Club. He also liked to work in his vegetable garden and was well known for his homegrown sauerkraut.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, the former Dorothy “Dottie” Mull; brothers and sisters, James of Tallahassee, Fla., Joseph of Hanover, Phillip of Jersey Shore, Gertrude Sepe of Williamsport and Joan Paucke of Linden.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Louis, Dale, Victor, Connie, Mary, Helen and Molly.
