Arlene Ann (Rosener) Mazzotta, 78, of Middletown, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 29th at Hartford Hospital. Born in Webster, MA, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Edith (Dinsmore) Rosener. A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and loyal friend and mentor to so many, Arlene lived in Middletown the majority of her life. She opened her own business, A•R Mazzotta Employment Specialists, in 1983. She was a savvy businesswoman but never forgot to give back to the community. Arlene was the first female Chair of the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce and was recognized by the Chamber with the Distinguished Citizen Award. There are very few organizations in the Middletown area which Arlene didn’t touch in some way. Arlene was recognized by the Small Business Administration as the Women in Business Advocate of the Year and was a founding donor of The Community Foundation of Middlesex County Fund for Women and Girls. For Arlene, family was everything, and family included more than true relatives. Always quick with a compliment, good advice and support, she was truly an inspiration; a woman with bright personality and proud character. Arlene was a unique presence in this world and she will be deeply missed.

Arlene is survived by two daughters, Judy Mazzotta of Cromwell and Laura Dale Pedersen of Killingworth; three grandchildren, Marissa, Brittany and Jacqueline; the love of her life, Lou Mazzotta; her sister, Sandy Duane of MA; and several nieces and nephews, including her close niece, Jennifer Duane. Along with her parents, Arlene was predeceased by her brother, Robert Rosener. You are invited to celebrate the life of this beautiful person on Tuesday, October 6th at 11:00 a.m.
