Arlene R. Hand, 79, of Freeport, died Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at her home. Born September 30, 1933 in Bellwood she was the daughter of Gottlieb and Elizabeth (Schneider) Kraus. She married Donald B. Hand October 16, 1954 and he died September 27, 2006.Arlene was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and their Concordia Society. Surviving is her son, John A. (Susan) Hand of Bensenville; her daughter, Dorene (Ricci) Werntz of Freeport; four grandchildren, Jennifer Hand and Jacqueline Hand both of Bensenville; Audra (Derrick) Fink of Boise, Idaho; and Aaron (Kristen) Werntz of Denver, Colorado; her nephew, Gary (Sandy) Diebel of Cincinnati, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one sister, Dorothy Diebel.
