Arlene Marie (Arakelian) Gronski, of Newington, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at her home on December 4, 2020, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born to the late Puzant “PK” and Mary (Yagoobian) Arakelian on July 12, 1937 in Hartford, Connecticut, and graduated from New Britain High School in 1955. She married the late Chester “Chet” Gronski on September 6, 1958, and they lived in Newington, for the past 53 years. Arlene was a loving mother and homemaker who enjoyed many hobbies over the years, such as bowling, sewing, baking, playing backgammon and travelling to Las Vegas and Atlantic City. Throughout the years, she enjoyed the roses from Chet’s garden.Arlene is survived by her son Michael Gronski and his wife Cindy of Newington, her daughter Deanna Gronski and her grandson Logan Tyminski of South Windsor, her granddaughter Nicole Ward and her son Colsyn Ward of South Carolina, her grandson Michael Gronski and his fiancée Natalia and son Cameron of Plainville. She also leaves her sister Shirley Pelletier of Apple Valley, California, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Hospital of Central Connecticut, and Dr. Wylie Hosmer and the staff at the Cancer Center of Central Connecticut, including Noa Mencher whose support, care and respect was very much appreciated. We would also like to thank Florence Egyin who has helped Arlene at home for the past year and a half. Florence was a blessing and we are fortunate to call her family.
