GETCHEL, Mrs. Arlene M. Kalamazoo, MI. Passed away Tuesday morning November 8, 2011. Arlene was born September 18, 1921 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a daughter of Edward and Lena Decker Minnard. She had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with the Upjohn Company for 10 years before retiring. Arlene was also a member of the Second Reformed Church and former First Reformed Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph E. Getchel on January 20, 1984 whom she married on September 6, 1946; a daughter, Marybeth Sagen in 1996; and 2 sisters, Twin Wilma and Betty. Arlene is survived by 3 sons, Brent Angelina Getchel of Grand Lake, CO, Douglas Teah Getchel of Key West, FL, and David Christine Getchel of Kalamazoo; a son-in-law, Jerry Sagen of Eugene, OR; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and a niece.
