Arlene M. Berryman, 82, formerly of Piety Hill, died at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at LaSalle County Nursing Home, Ottawa, where she had resided for 12 years. She was born October 13, 1924 in Peru to Everett and Edith (Mason) Berryman. She worked at Westclox for 35 years and later at Hobbs in Spring Valley. She was a 1943 graduate of LaSalle Peru Township High School. She served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1944 to 1946 during World War II. She was a member of the Oglesby Union Church, the Amarath Chapter O.E.S., and AARP. She is survived by: 2 sisters, Lois (Albert) Janko of LaSalle, and Shirley Guehler, formerly of Morris, now residing in Evenglow Home, Pontiac; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded by: her parents; and 1 brother, William Berryman.
