Arlene H Colby, age 84, from South Weber, Utah died August 31, 2021. She was born November 15, 1936 in Ogden, Utah to Edith Unck and Orson C Hinton.

Arlene married Kenneth Ray Colby April 11, 1957, in the Idaho Falls Temple. He preceded her in death on January 17, 2015. They were blessed with five wonderful children who gave them great satisfaction and joy and made life a heaven on earth.

Arlene lived in Ogden, Arlington, VA, Roy, and South Weber. She graduated from Ben Lomond high school.

Arlene worked for the Weber School District as a secretary at both Sand Ridge and Walquist Jr High. She moved on to the district office prior to retirement. She created fun friendships with special friends Dixie, Sally and Nels who meant so much to her after Ken’s passing.

She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served diligently in a variety of callings including working as a librarian with her good friend Jan. She enjoyed her weekly check in calls with another dear friend Debbie. She was blessed to live by good neighbors like Dennis who would plow snow, fix a drain or widen a doorway when she asked, ReAnn and Scott who would spend Wednesdays bringing her sweet rolls and a sandwich.

Arlene enjoyed traveling, crocheting, temple work, and keeping her rose garden in beautiful condition.

She is survived by her two daughters, Debi (Cliff) Benna, Vicky (Steve) Roberts; three sons, David (Dora) Colby, Jim (Cindee) Colby, Brad Colby; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Lamar; a great-granddaughter, Chloe; and her beloved pug, Duke who wouldn’t leave her side after Ken passed.

We would like to thank those special ladies Heather and Ashlee from Aspen Ridge Hospice. They did an amazing job making mom comfortable these past few months. Also, a special thank you to Debi and Brad for their constant care of mom. They very seldom left her side. There were tough times but that only made the bond stronger.
