Arlene F (Calkins) Brooks, 92, formally of Swantown Road Preston, CT died Saturday October 9, 2021 at Backus Hospital surrounded by her family.
Arlene was born on December 17, 1929 in Norwich and was the daughter of Perlin and Helen Calkins.
On July 3, 1948 she was united in marriage to Charles A. Brooks Sr. where they spent 59 years together until his passing on November 25, 2007.
Arlene was a stay-at-home mother who loved her family dearly and only wanted the best for each of her children. Mom will be known by all her children as who made the best home-made bread, chicken soup, beef stew, the 98 little meatball lasagna and our all time favorite, her turkey stuffing.
Arlene is survived by her six children, Barbara Vasek, Pat Hanley, Charlene Estelle, Kelly DePolito, Bunny Mustin and Chuck Brooks. Her 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and her beloved cat Holly. She was predeceased by her parents and brothers Merril, Billy and Jack Calkins and sister Helen Potter.
