Arland Levon Coley, age 88, of McCrory, Arkansas passed away at St.Vincents Rehabilitation in Sherwood, Arkansas on Saturday, June 21, 2014. He was born in Heavener, Oklahoma on June 20, 1926 to Jess and Marie Bailey Coley. Mr. Arland attended the Pumpkin Bend School.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Garland and Jimmy Coley. Survivors include his wife of seventy years, Elizabeth Irene Ancel Coley; one son, Charles Wayne Coley and wife Brenda Alumbaugh Coley; one daughter, Donna Sue Coley Moore and husband Jackie Don Moore; grandchildren, Michael and Kristie Coley, Kimberly Moore Underwood and husband Eric, Chad Moore and wife Samantha; great-grandchildren, Mallory Brooke Coley, Garrett Michael Coley, Audrey Lauren Underwood and Sloan Alexis Moore; brothers, Ellis Coley and wife Marion of Judsonia, Arkansas and Bobby Coley of Flippin, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
He was a retired farmer and surveyor but remained active on the farm until four years ago when his wife’s health started to fail. He was an around the clock care giver for her with the help of Mrs. Gertie Curbo. In his younger years he loved to fish, hunt deer, pheasants, squirrels, and ducks. Other hobbies included traveling and playing cards but most of all loved spending time with his family and friends. He cherished the Brother Reunions and wanted to be surrounded by people.
