Arevia “Reva” Maxine Schelle, 81, of Lafayette, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022, at The Springs in Lafayette.
She was born March 29, 1941, in Somerset, KY to the late Willie and Mildred (Norfleet) Buchanan. She was a 1959 graduate of Klondike High School in West Lafayette and graduated from Columbia College in Columbia, MO in 1990, with her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. On June 13, 1959, she married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Donald Schelle. Donald preceded her in death on September 12, 2003.
Reva was a member of the First Christian Church of Macon, MO where she led the Youth and Special Services programming. What she could dream for the church programs, Don could build. Reva also enjoyed painting landscapes, refining her skills over many years.
She is survived by her 2 daughters, Jana (Robert) Norton of Big Sky, MT and Jeanna (Randall) Roderick of Greenville, SC; 2 grandchildren, Zachary and Zane Norton; 2 brothers, Herman and Kenneth Buchanan of West Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, and her parents, Willie and Mildred Buchanan.
Inurnment will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, 1718 W. 350 N., West Lafayette, IN 47906.
