Ardyth Joan Clark Moreland, 91, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2021. She was born May 24, 1929 in Oklahoma City, OK, to the late Orrie Lee and Daisy Hughes Clark.

Joan married Alton J. Marshall in 1947 after graduating from Central High School in Oklahoma City. She worked as a Service Reviewer at Equifax for 37 years until she retired. Following her husband’s death, Joan married William J. Moreland, Jr. in 1989 in Oklahoma City. They lived there until 1995 when the couple moved to Flagstaff, AZ. In 2016, Joan moved to Peoria, AZ to be closer to her family.

She was a gifted watercolor artist and talented singer. Joan’s watercolor and oil paintings won numerous awards in juried art shows in both Oklahoma and Arizona. Throughout her life, she was a dedicated member of Northwest Christian Church in Oklahoma City and Hope Community Church in Flagstaff. In both churches, Joan shared her beautiful voice as a choir member and often performed as a featured soloist. As a Diamond Circle member of Beta Sigma Phi, Joan actively participated in her local chapter events and served as an officer many times. Joan was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star since her initiation into Oklahoma Chapter No. 5 in 1968.

In addition to sharing her time and talents, Joan was a lifelong supporter of her local food bank. In lieu of flowers, her family encourages donations to any food bank in her memory.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents and her two husbands.

She is survived by her daughter, Jackie Menasco and husband, Keith A.; stepdaughters, Katherine A. Moreland, Priscilla L. Jaramillo, and Susan J. Gooder; stepson, Bobby L. Moreland; sister, Nina C. Smith; grandsons, Nicholas C. Menasco and wife, Kate, and Allen H. Menasco; great-grandson, AJ; and niece, Wendy Smith.
