Mrs. Ardia Cooney-Briggs was born May 8, 1927 in Wattensaw, Arkansas. She confessed to Christ at a very early age at Macedonia Baptist Church. She remained a member of this church until her death. She died peacefully on June 15, 2013 at Red Oak Nursing Home.
Ardia united with Robert Lewis Briggs, and to this union two children’s were born, Ronnie Briggs and the late Bertha Briggs. Ardia is preceded in death by: her parents the late Alex Andrew and Gertrude Graham-Cooney, two daughters, Mary Ann (Stephen) McKinney-Gomillion and Bertha Briggs, two brothers, Andrew Jackson Cooney and Henderson Cooney.
A dedicated and loving mother she leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter Alice Anderson (Luther) of Carlisle, AR, and her son Ronnie Briggs of Jacksonville, AR. Four brothers Robert Cooney and Clarence Cooney of Lonoke, AR. Claudie(MaeDeLois) Cooney, and Luther Cooney of Carlisle, AR. Five sisters Thelma Cannon of Lonoke, AR., Addie Mae Willis of Little Rock, AR, Earline Cooney, Louella Cooney, Annie Cooney of Lonoke, AR and; A dear and special friend, Susie Coleman. Eleven grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
