Archie Clifford Wilson, 83, passed away peacefully at his home with his wife and daughter Sherry by his side. He was born in Joshua Township, Illinois to Emma Rose (Imel) and Mart Woodrow Wilson. He is survived by his wife, Chery Wilson, a brother Arnold Wilson; sisters Martha Renkes, Sheila Sheer, four daughters, Lynne Rouse, Sherry Anderson, Donna Wilson and Jean Mooney, three step children, Doug Robb, Missy, and Jodie Malito, 21 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Mervyn Wilson.
He had many jobs during his life, including owning his own printing company.
Archie had a deep faith that he used to guide his life and interact with people. He was devoted to his wife and family. He loved Colorado and living in the mountains where he shared a life with his wife for over 30 years. He held a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology from St. Ambrose University and completed the Clinical Pastoral Education Program. He liked to stay active and enjoyed woodworking, whittling, leather working, hiking, canoeing, camping and traveling. He enjoyed many hikes up Cameron’s Cone with family and friends. He always had ongoing home improvement projects and was an overall handyman. He had a deep appreciation for Native Americans and their way of life. He was honored to share in their sweat lodge and ceremonies. He was also known for making the best pancakes ever. He touched many lives and had a kind, gentle spirit, and a great sense of humor.
