Antonio S. Vega, age 72, of Harlingen, Texas passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2021. He was born May 10, 1949 in Los Fresnos, Texas to Andres and Nicolasa Salazar Vega. Tony was a hardworking family man. He loved spending time with his family, he enjoyed barbqueing and spending weekends at the Wanna Wanna Beach Bar and Grill on SPI. He also loved to cruise his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was a loved man…loved by many. Always calm and the rock for us all.
He is preceded in death by his stepson, Lee Rodriguez; brothers, Macario Vega & Vicente Espinoza; and sister, Maria De La Luz Vega.
He leaves to cherish his beautiful memory, his loving wife of 48 years, Rachel Vega; children, Velma (Sean) Hughes, Toni (Rey) Adame, Marco (Bobby) Molina Vega, Aaron (Laura) Vega, Tony (Maria Leticia) Vega Jr., Ruben Rodriguez, and Carmen (Tim Vasconcellos) Rodriguez; grandchildren, Jason John Eads, Megan Eads, Ryan Hughes, Brandi (Sebastian) Bautista, Abigail (Homero Salazar Jr.) Cisneros, E.J. Cisneros, Aaron Adame, Chelsea Ramirez, Brent (fiancé, Marissa Patterson) Vasconcellos, Brett (Kason) Vasconcellos; 3 Great-grandchildren, Sophia and Santi Salazar and Luna Amalia Bautista, Siblings, Brigida Dominguez, Anita Vega, Alfredo Vega, Andes Vega Jr. and Maria Esparza. He is also survived by several nephews, nieces other relatives and friends.
The Vega family would like to thank Adriana Ordones and Mine Gonzales for caring for our dad and keeping him comfortable throughout his illness, “we love you”.
