Antonio Baca Otero, 83, a resident of Columbus passed away Monday, August 20, 2018, at Mesilla Valley Hospice in Las Cruces.
Antonio was born September 16, 1934, in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico to Crus Baca and Blas Otero. He moved to Columbus in 1985 coming from Soda Springs, Idaho, and ranched his entire life. His cows were a big part of his ranching. He adored them. Antonio always enjoyed spending time with his family and had a special love for all of his grandchildren. He was a communicant of the Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Socorro Miranda Otero of Columbus; sons, Salvador Otero, and Jaime Otero and wife Sonia of New Prague, MN, Rojelio Otero and wife Mayela of Columbus; 2 sisters, Carolina Otero and husband Armando, Gloria Otero and husband Umberto Garcia both of Brownsville, TX; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his parents; 2 sons, Rene and Javier Otero, and a grandson Johnny Rene Otero.
