Antonina L. (Zito) Mathis passed away Monday evening, May 31, 2021. Lena was born May 10, 1929 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Tom and Mary (Ruvoli) Zito. She was a member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was very active in numerous church activities. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. On October 4, 1947 she was united in marriage to her loving husband, Robert Mathis, who preceded her in death on July 29, 1986.
She was also preceded in death by 4 brothers and 4 sisters. Lena is survived by her daughters, Linda (Scott) Riggs, Lori (Mark) Beyer; grandchildren, Amber, Allison, Kaitlynn, MaryAnn and Megan; great-grandchildren, Gracie, Colin, Leni, Jamin, Jackson, Ryder, Quinten, Carson, Ethan and Jordan; a sister-in-law, Doris Zito; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 10:00am Saturday, June 5 at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, 3941 S. Westnedge followed by a memorial service at 11:00am at St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2381 Romence Road in Portage. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or the SPCA.
