Antionette Marie Small was born January 24, 1956 to the proud parents of Charles E. and Josie Small at St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights, Illinois. She was raised in East Chicago Heights in a loving home with her sisters and brothers.

 Antionette, affectionately called, “Toni” accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age due to her parents’ devotion to Christ.  She received her formal education and graduated from Bloom High School, where she met and later married Ronald Sweatt of twelve years together, they had three wonderful children.

Antionette was a hard-working mother and was employed at Gerresheimer Glass Inc. in December of 1975 where she was as a glass maker for forty-four years until retiring in June of 2019. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, auntie and friend. Antionette Marie Small-Sweatt was a beautifully skilled singer, chef, strong-willed, caring, strict and devoted to her family and friends. She enjoyed shopping on weekends after a long week’s work.

On Saturday, August 8, 2020 Antionette was called home to be with the Lord. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Charles E. Small, Sr. and Josie Jones-Small; siblings: Jewel Townsend, Charles Small Jr. and Fredrick “DiYah” Small.

The things that will absolutely be remembered and missed most about Antionette are the wonderful moments of laughter shared amongst family and friends. Long heartfelt conversations, cooking alongside her, seeing the latest movies and going to her favorite restaurants are just a few fond memories. But her unique smile will continue to light our hearts and forever be with us!

Antionette leaves to cherish her memory her three children: Seneca R. Sweatt, Sedrick L. Sweatt and Morgan M. Sweatt; three grandchildren: Sabrenia Sweatt, Kayla Sweatt and Ava M. Sweatt; seven sisters: Farra Lawrence, Vivian Small, Ronette (Warren) Wallace, Franchon Lindsay, Marla (Richard) Rias, Sheila (Joe) Young and Glenda Small; three brothers, Dennis Small, Sr., William Small and Kevin Small; two maternal aunts, Rosetta Bickham and Diane Bickham, and a host of beloved family and friends.
