Anthony M. “Tony” Serafino, 63, of Elkhart, went to join his heavenly father at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21.

He was born, in Elkhart, Nov. 19, 1952, to Francis “Frank” Serafino and Helen B. (Wade Serafino) Koller, both of Elkhart.

Surviving along with his parents are his son, Daniel “Dan” (Halie Murray) Serafino of Elkhart; brothers Mark Koller and Steven (Kathy) Serafino of Elkhart and Eric Koller of Indianapolis; sisters Diana (Tom) Tormanen of Shipshewana and Andrea (Amir Ibriham) Serafino of North Royalton, Ohio; granddaughter Karlie Serafino; stepmother Marilyn Serafino; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death was a brother, Gary Koller and a stepfather, Virgil Koller.

Tony’s life will be celebrated at Zion Missionary Church, 1135 E. Hively Ave., Elkhart,  Tuesday, Sept. 27, with visitation beginning there at 11 a.m. followed by a service at 1 p.m. Pastor Jacob LaBounty will officiate and services will conclude with a burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Garden in Osceola.

At the age of 4, Tony appeared on the TV show “Romper Room.”

He served as student band director during his North Side years and went on to graduate Elkhart High School in 1971 and the Ball State School of Architecture in 1976.

He was most recently employed at the architectural firm Interface of Elkhart.

He attended Zion Missionary Church and enjoyed hiking, bowling, riding his motorcycle and working on computers and electronics.

He also adored his nieces, doted over his baby granddaughter, and enjoyed spending time with his son, with whom he would often get together to cook spaghetti using a generations–old family recipe.
