HAVERHILL – Anthony “Tony” Anzaldi, 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, February 25, 2017.

Tony was born in Lawrence on July 1, 1928. He had a humble Italian immigrant upbringing where he learned the language of the “Old Country” and the meaning of hard work. His early years found him in the Navy, stationed at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba post WWII, where he formed an affinity for Latin music and Rumba dancing. Tony worked at Lucent Technologies for many years until his retirement. Raising a family and building a home was the most important thing to him in the following years, where he followed his passion for gardening and landscaping. His family life and marriage to Ida for 60 plus years was filled with great times at home and at “the beach” where there was always an abundance of tremendous food and lots of great memories of a great man who will be greatly missed by his family and friends left behind.

He was the husband of the late Ida (LaRosa) Anzaldi, who passed in 2014. Tony’s surviving family members include his loving children Paula Scatamacchia and husband Robert of Haverhill, Anthony “Chip” Anzaldi of Haverhill and John Anzaldi and wife Genn of Jackson, NH; sister Mary Atkinson of Scottsdale, AZ; six grandchildren Derek Scatamacchia of Haverhill, Justin Scatamacchia and wife Cara of Atkinson, NH, Tara Balukas and husband Shawn “Rocky” of Haverhill, Michael Scatamacchia of Haverhill, Amelia Anzaldi and Jocelyn Anzaldi of Jackson, NH; four great-grandchildren; his beloved dog Bianca; and is also survived by several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
