Anthony “Tony” Klobukowski, Jr., 91, of Oakdale, CT, and formerly of Plainview, LI, NY, passed at home with family by his side on April 7, 2015.
He was born July 17, 1923 by midwife, on the family farm in Jericho, Long Island, NY, one of five siblings.
Mr. Klobukowski left school at the age of 16 to work on the farm, but despite his limited education, he managed to build a wonderful life and did get his GED at age 40. He proudly served in the U.S. Army Military Police during WWII where one of his proudest moments was being color guard in Atlanta, GA where Franklin D.
He was predeceased by his adored wife, Carmelita (Walti) Klobukowski. He is survived by his daughters, Linda Weaver of San Francisco, CA and Kathy and her husband, Michael Hustus of Oakdale, CT; his grandchildren, Karyn and her husband, Scott Bostick of Castle Pines, CO, Genevieve and her husband, Philip Elliott of Colchester, CT, Rebecca Kent of East Greenwich, RI, Faith and her husband, Nicholas Renninger of Uncasville, CT and Edward Weaver of San Francisco, CA; great grandchildren, Lailah and Brooke Kent, Cierrah Macher and Olivia Renninger, Ryan and Grace Elliott; a sister, Ceceilia Striegl and her children, Robert and his wife Francis Striegl, Francis and her husband, Jeff Werner, and their children Mark and Kathryn Werner; and numerous extended family and friends.
