Anthony J. DiMeola, 82, of Fountain Terrace, New Haven, passed away Sept. 25, 2009 in St. Raphael’s Hospital. Born in New Haven July 1, 1927, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Raphaella DiMeola. He graduated from Hillhouse High School in 1945. He immediately entered the military and served in the Quartermaster Corps., U.S. Army of Occupation in the Pacific War Zone. He graduated from the University of New Haven School of Managerial Development in 1974. He worked in management for Berger Bros. Co for 37 years and later for Duckster Sportswear and Chevron Ties until his retirement. He was past president of the Industrial Engineering Society, a founder and past president of Berger Bros. Credit Union, a 35 year member of The Amity Club, serving on its Board of Directors and Scholarship Committee, a member of the New Haven Industrial Management Club, American Legion Post 162 in Hamden, the Italian American Historical Society and the Village Unity League. He is survived by two aunts, Yolanda (Helen) DiMeola of Hamden and Helen DiMeola of Tolland; and several cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Concetta DiMeola.
