Anthony E. Alfonso, 71, of Catasauqua, formerly of Allentown, passed away peacefully at home on February 16, 2007. He was the husband of Charlotte A. (Scanzello) Alfonso. They would have been married for 49 years in April. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Anthony F. and Helen M. (Henn) Alfonso. Tony worked for the Bethlehem Steel Corp., and later for Schwerman Trucking for many years. He was a member of Our Lady of Pompeii Church in Bethlehem, where he was a past member of the Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Bethlehem Chapter of UNICO and the Knights of Columbus, Trinity Council #313,where he was a 4th degree knight. He enjoyed fishing, but he especially loved his family and was a proud Pop-Pop. Survivors: he will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife Charlotte at home; daughter Toni Ann Dries and her husband Ron with who they resided; son Anthony, Jr. and his wife Terri of Jim Thorpe; sisters Marie VanBilliard of Allentown and Jean Dollak of Bethlehem; brother James and his wife Pat of Bethlehem; grandchildren Kristofer, Angelina, Michael and Mary.
