Anthonia “Toni” Cox, of Galesburg, Michigan Toni, age 82, went to be with our Lord & Savior on Thursday morning, February 13, 2014. She was born on April 18, 1931 in Westbroek, Province of Utrecht, The Netherlands, the daughter of Evert and Hermÿntje “Mina” VanderScheur Griffioen. On December 18, 1953, Toni was united in marriage to the love of her life, Byron Cox, in Kalamazoo. She was employed by The Upjohn Co. at The Brook Lodge Hotel & Conference Resort for 17 years until her retirement.
Surviving her are her best friend and loving husband of 60 years, Byron Cox; their three sons and three daughters and their spouses: Barb and Drew Meinema of Portage, Thomas and Kelly Cox of Richland, Deborah and James Coe of Galesburg, Susan and John Pettigrew of Galesburg, Jeffrey and Kelly Cox of Valparaiso, Indiana, and Michael Cox and Christi Payne of Galesburg; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, John Griffioen.
