Annie Pearl “Aunt Sis” Garner, age 78, of Cassopolis, formerly of Vandalia and Elkhart, died peacefully, Friday, February 27, 2015 in Kingdom Home Ministries of Cassopolis.She was born July 11, 1936 in Greenwood, Mississippi to Thomas and Naomi (Jones) House, Sr.
She married George Paul Garner June 18, 1965 in Vandalia, Michigan. He preceded her in death January 2, 1975. She was also preceded by her parents; one daughter, Gloria Dean House-Sykes; three sisters, Naomi Warr, Ruth McKnight, Sally Greenwood; and eight brothers, twins, Paul and Saul House, LeRoy House, Robert House, Sr., Anthony House, Sr., Horace House, Thomas House, Jr. and James Roland House.
Annie loved being around her family, especially during holidays and other family gatherings. She was always very well dressed and always had a big smile on her face. She was passionate about Bingo, weekly Bible studies with Sister Tubbs and cooking. Her favorite song was “I’m too close to the mirror.” Annie will be greatly missed by family and friends.
She leaves to mourn her passing three daughters, Nancy Conner, Wanda (Tyrone) Friend, Pamela (Larry) Parker, all of Elkhart, Indiana; one son, Frank (Chastity) House of Sterling, Illinois; seventeen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; three sisters, Pearl (Harold) Williams and Mary (Jessie) Jackson, both of Elkhart, Indiana, Henrietta (Charles) Stewart of Cassopolis; three brothers, Clemon (Mary) House of Dowagiac, Henry (Ora) House, Sr., of Elkhart, Arlin (Zellie) House of Dowagiac; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including lifetime friends, Tanette Turpin Wilson, Chaquitta Mitchell, Lillie Gillam, all of Cassopolis, Minister Dorothy Pittman of Elkhart.
