Mrs Annie Johnson, a native of Texarkana, AR and former resident of San Diego passed away on June 15 in Texarkana.
Annie Melba Johnson, affectionately known as “Boolie” or “AJ”, was born on September 4, 1941 in Texarkana, Arkansas. She was the youngest child born to Ben Johnson, Sr. and Patsy Johnson. She received her formal education in Arkansas.
As a young woman, Annie moved to Los Angeles to further her education and attend nursing school. After graduating, she spent her entire nursing career in Los Angeles, California working primarily at the Veterans Administration Hospital and was passionate about patient care.
She loved her job, her co-workers and especially her patients. Actually, Annie just loved life. She never met a stranger and showed love and kindness to all. She greeted everyone with that wonderful smile. If you met Annie, you loved her and you knew she loved to talk. Annie was smart, independent, strong, genuine, generous, loving, compassionate and caring.
After a long career, Annie retired “back home” to Arkansas.
Those left to cherish her memory are; three sisters-in-law, Elnora Johnson, Mafran Johnson and Mary A. Johnson, a host of nieces and nephews and numerous other relatives and friends.
