Annette Kari (Venheim) Eddy, 69, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 20, 2021. Annette was born February 12, 1952 in Portchester, New York. Her parents Herman Georg and Ruth Marie Olsen Venheim were immigrants from Norway. Annette was the 3rd of 7 children with a special relationship to each of her siblings, regardless of distance.  Annette was so proud of her family heritage and culture, often donning a Norwegian sweater and dropping Norwegian phrases that had everyone laughing.

Annette graduated from Roger Ludlow High School in Fairfield, CT in 1970. After High School, Annette moved to Utah to be near her eldest sister, and it was at a mutual friends’ Bible study that she met the love of her life, James Eddy. James and Annette were married on September 7, 1974, and for 47 years they shared a deep love and dedication to their marriage and family. Asking each anniversary if the other wanted to continue on in their partnership, it was always a resounding yes. James went to be with the Lord in June and took a part of Annette’s heart with him. They never could be separated for long.

Annette’s passion was always helping others and serving her community. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Childhood Education from Weber State College in 1975. She was an educator who taught literature and art in middle school and for many years ran a homeschool for close family/friends. It was this passion for her community that pushed her to earn her Master’s Degree in Family & Human Development from Utah State University in 1997. With her degree and dedication to community, Annette served as the Director of Catholic Community Services, providing support to the homeless and hungry. She was an advocate to those struggling with alcohol and substance abuse and put her knowledge and skills to use in the classroom, teaching addiction recovery classes. In her free time, she used her unwavering spirit for her community to write grants for local non-profits and help them attain much needed funding.

Annette was very skilled and artistic in her hobbies. She was a master at sewing, creating beautiful jackets, shirts and dresses for her husband and children. She enjoyed sketching and stenciling the walls of her Victorian house. But these hobbies did not compare to her greatest hobby, her family. She cherished time spent with her four children and was always their biggest supporter. Annette fulfilled many roles in her life, but her greatest was Grandma. To her three grandkids, she was pure and endless love. They will miss her tea- time, baking, baths, walks, and abundant hugs.

Annette is survived by her children Sarah Elizabeth Eddy, James Wilson Eddy II, Esther Marie Hamilton (Aaron), John Daniel Eddy (Pei Jun “Mandy Cao); three grandchildren Winston Aaron Hamilton, Oscar James Hamilton, Mona Mei Eddy; siblings Georg Venheim, John Venheim, and Nils Venheim. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sisters June Sady, Ellen O’Neal and Randi Steeves.
