Anne Vander Lugt, age 94, of DeMotte, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017, at the Oak Grove Christian Retirement Village in DeMotte.
Anne was born May 8, 1922, in Kampen, Netherlands the daughter of Asje and Wilhelmina (Koekoek) Van Enk. On July 5, 1944, in Grand Rapids, MI Anne married the love of her life, Leonard Vander Lugt and he preceded her in death on January 25, 2014. Anne was a housewife and homemaker and was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in DeMotte. She cherished her times with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially the annual Christmases in Shipshewana.
Anne is survived by her 6 children; Dr. Lee (Louise) Vander Lugt of Chickasha, OK, Wilma Jean (Roger) Huizenga of Walkerton, IN, Lynn Ann Rudoni of Stanwood, MI, Dr. Gerrit (Barbara) Vander Lugt of Alma, MI, Margery Jo (Robert) Stanton of Jackson, MI, and Dr. David (Penny) Vander Lugt of DeMotte, IN; 17- grandchildren; 24- great grandchildren; two brother in laws, (Bud) Spaanstra of Grandville, MI, and Harold (Marian) Mulder of Alto, MI; a sister in law, Marian Van Enk of Grandville, MI.
Anne is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 5-brothers, 3-sisters, and a son in law, Steve Rudoni.
