Anne Philomena (Long) Ptashnick of Plymouth (formerly of Medfield), passed away at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth on May 24, 2021 at the age of seventy-nine. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul Ptashnick, beloved sister- in-law to Olga Page of Boston; loving mother of Paul Ptashnick and his wife Ana Rojas of Canton, Julie Fox of Plymouth and Paul Fox of Plymouth and cherished grandmother of Jack and Liam Fox of Plymouth. She is survived by her sisters, Patricia Griffin of Ireland, Margaret Long of England, Eileen Bowler of Ireland and Marie Marett of was born on August 26, 1941 in Ballyferriter, Co. Kerry, Ireland to James and Mary (McKenna) Long. She attended the Baggot Street Hospital School of Nursing in Dublin, Ireland and came to Boston in her mid-20s with fellow nursing students, working as a Registered Nurse. She spent several years in Boston before marrying Paul and settling in Medfield. She continued her work at Elizabeth Seton Residence in Wellesley for many years before retiring. Anne, the ultimate caregiver, felt a passion and a duty to help others whether it be family, friend or stranger. She also enjoyed entertaining and banter and was a very skilled baker. Her strength and compassion will be missed but she leaves a legacy of love and devotion. We invite you to celebrate her life with us.
