Anne Marie (Dill) Oman passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 2nd, 2021, at Rose Arbor, after a 4 ½ year long battle with ovarian cancer. She was 51.
Anne was born on March 30th, 1970, daughter of Karol (Kirkpatrick) and Everett C. Dill. Her father preceded her in death in December of 2012. She is survived and deeply missed by her children Aaron, Abigail, and Andrew Oman, mother Karol, sisters Alyson Miller (Dean) and Alyssa Thompson (Scott), nieces Hannah & Makenna Thompson and Sydney & Sadie Miller.
Anne graduated from Portage Northern High School in 1988, where she enjoyed performing in the yearly school musicals, as well as with the school’s Songleaders group. She then spent time studying at Central Michigan University, before taking a break from studies to explore the workforce. In 1993, Anne received her CMA certification from Kalamazoo Valley Community College, graduating top of her class. In 1996, Anne left the workforce to focus her energy on raising and homeschooling her children.
Anne was a brilliant and creative soul who loved the arts, particularly musical theatre, and took great joy in cultivating that same love in her children’s lives. She was also an avid reader, book collector, and animal lover who loved spending time with her family and pets.
In 2016, Anne achieved a long-awaited goal of renewing her CMA certification and returning to the workforce. She loved her job as a medical assistant and enjoyed working until December of ’16, when she tragically received a stage 3C ovarian cancer diagnosis and left the workforce once more to start her battle with cancer.
