Anne Marie Knuppel, age 81, passed away peacefully at home on February 27th after living with Alzheimer’s disease for 13 years. Anne was the first baby born in Queens, NY on New Year’s Day, Jan 1, 1939 to Anna and Anton Schlee. Anne held a degree in Early Childhood Education and her love of teaching led to her opening Lark Child Development Center in TX, which she owned and operated for 12 years. Anne volunteered, made blankets for veterans, and kimonos and caps for Newborns in Need.
