Anne E. (McInerny) Mahler, 95, a longtime resident of Upton, passed away Monday, January 1, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband Henry S. Mahler, Jr.

Anne was born in Worcester, one of nine children of the late John Edward and Anna Mary (Butler) McInerny.
She worked for various banks in the Worcester area before starting at the Post Office.

Her volunteer work also included being a Court Appointed Special Advocate/Guardian ad litem (CASA/GAL), and a Foster Care Reviewer with the DHHS. She was also often called upon to drive the elderly to doctor appointments well into her 80’s.

She leaves her 8 children, and her much loved sons and daughters-in-law: Philip Mahler and his wife Margot of Carlisle, Keith Mahler and his wife Linda of Hampton, NH, Leslie Ardison of Westminster, Janet Carter of Whitinsville, Evelyn Enos and her husband David of Oakham, Andrew Mahler and his wife Anne of Webster, Peter Mahler of Grafton, and Dana Claflin and her husband Ron of Uxbridge; a sister Bernice Garnett of Ventura, CA; sister-in-law Alice McInerney; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Her sisters Mary Slattery, Claire Scully Lankau, and Phyllis Strub and brothers John, Robert, Francis, and Richard McInerny predeceased her.
