Anne Elizabeth (Knox) Marchand December 13, 1940- November 3, 2021

Anne grew up in Reading and Wingaersheek Beach with her parents (predeceased) James A. Knox and Sara E. (Cannon) Knox and older brother, (predeceased) James Knox. A 1958 graduate of Reading High School, she continued her education at Vermont College, class of 1960. After graduating, Anne traveled to Europe, securing her first job with the Defense Communication Agency and meeting her first husband, Jacob C. Darnell, Jr.

Anne leaves behind her children from her first marriage; Jacob C. Darnell, III, wife Lisa, Elizabeth Darnell, husband James Plausky (predeceased), and Kristen (Darnell) Swanson, husband Erik as well as grandchildren Julianne and Jacob Darnell, Katherine, Jack, and Andrew Kradolfer, and Ian and Cooper Swanson. Anne moved to Ipswich where she married Louis P. Marchand (predeceased) and was stepmother to Robert, wife Rose, Paul, wife Cindy, Kim, James, wife Tara, and John (predeceased). She also leaves behind grandchildren from her marriage to Lou, Christina, Jeffrey, Nicole, Derek, Brenna, Casey, Daniel, Kelly, Michael, and Jack. Anne will also be missed by her many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Anne lived in many places throughout her life, but she spent her later years in Gloucester, Hampton Meadows, NH, and Brooksby Village, Peabody. Anne enjoyed work and volunteering to keep her busy, for several years she worked as a real estate agent on the North Shore. She later worked for the Ipswich Public Schools, City of Gloucester, and Town of Hampton, NH. She continued to volunteer in her final years with the Garden Club and Treasure Chest at Brooksby Village. When not working, Anne enjoyed gardening, painting, socializing and reading. Everywhere Anne lived and worked she made numerous friends. She will be missed by all those who knew her.
