Anne E. Ferguson “Fergie” age 94, of Hammond, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016.
Anne is survived by her children: Richard (Donna) Ferguson, Judy (Chuck) Kmiec-Anderson, David (Taddy) Ferguson, and Pamela (James) Wendell; 15 grandchildren, Danielle MacDonald, Michael MacDonald, Brian Ferguson, Vicki Breidenbaugh, Michelle Cataldi, Shayne Snider, Shannon Penn, Joe Kmiec III, Daniel Kmiec, Matthew Wendell, Nathan Wendell, Kristi Rees, Joshua Kmiec, Nicholas Ferguson, Lauren Emmert; 25 great-grandchildren. Dear sister-in-law Elsie Moss, niece Debbie Wold, nephew Bill Moss, and cousin Val Benedict. Preceded in death by her husband of 35 years Dick, daughter Sharon, son Randy and brother Dode.
Anne was employed as an RN at St. Catherine Hospital for over 30 years. She graduated in 1940 from Roosevelt High School in East Chicago, In, then graduated from St. Catherine School of Nursing 3 years later.
She was a caring, fiercely protective mother and grandmother who loved flowers and had a dry sense of humor. At her children or grandchildren’s athletic functions, she was never afraid of confronting an ump or ref that they were picking on “her kids”.
Anne was an avid reader, loved her Facebook account, and “liked” everything on it. She was also a huge fan of the Chicago Bears. Words cannot describe how dearly she will be missed.
