Anne Catherine Vegessi, age 82, of Bouchelle Island, New Smyrna Beach, died Tuesday, June 18 at home, with loving family members at her side. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, Mrs. Vegessi came to this area in 1999 from Seaford, Long Island, New York. A homemaker, she enjoyed trips to Biloxi, Mississippi, and day cruises on gaming ships.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Attilio (John); 2 sons, Captain Michael Vegessi and his wife, Kathy, of Montauk, Long Island, New York, and Mark Vegessi and his girlfriend, Theresa Crane, of New Smyrna Beach; a daughter, Susan Vegessi Faley and her husband, John, of Easton, Connecticut; a brother, Joseph Baran of New Hyde Park, New York; and several grandchildren, including Serena Schick and her husband, Dustin, Rebecca Gagnon and her husband, Daniel, and John Vegessi Faley.
