Anne Bayne Jones of Rockville, MD formerly of Dallas, TX on Wednesday, June 15, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Ray Jones; sister of Katherine Bayne Sr. Marie Angela, SSND and Charles Bayne (Ella); Aunt of Carole Levy, M.D. and Kathy Ruxton.
Anne was born 84 years ago into a very pious Catholic family in Baltimore. She was the middle child. Anne entered the order of School Sisters of Notre Dame when she completed their high school at Notre Dame. She followed her sister, Kit, or Sr. Marie Angela. She was Sister Marie Ansel for about 25 years, serving around Baltimore, Washington, D.C. in Annacostia, and most of all her dear Puerto Rico. She was teaching science to boys. The convent and school were right there next to the beach.
Anne was a big ray of sunshine. Everywhere she was you heard her laughter. She loved life, her God, and was about the most giving, caring person you could ever meet. Once when attending an informal group religious service, she was struck by the hymn, “Amazing Grace,” and this was life-changing for her. Life had new meaning. We listened to this song so much during her final days.
She remained youthful; at age 84, she looked not a day over 40 and had a gift for liking people. She was active in her church, too. She took communion to the sick and was a greeter in front of her church.
She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her. She dearly loved her big sister, “Kitty,” and little brother, “Otts.” Plus her ever-admiring friend, Ella.
