Lava Hot Springs – Annabell Blanche Butterfield, 79, passed away Wednesday morning at her home with her beloved dog Buddy.
Annabell Blanche Bath was the fifth of six children born to Allen and Blanche Bath on January 13, 1936, in Rock Springs, Wyoming.
Ann married the love of her life Frank Butterfield on September 23, 1960. Together they raised one son James R. Butterfield. Ann spent her earlier years raising Jim and taking care of Frank. After Frank retired in 1982, they opened the Blue Moon Bar in Lava and operated the bar until the mid 90’s.
Her greatest enjoyment in life was her grandchildren. She also loved to camp, fish and hunt – she was an avid outdoorswoman. Ann enjoyed having a dog, we can’t remember a time she didn’t have one by her side. The annual “Pebble Party” was the highlight of her year, she spent hours planning, cooking and organizing – this year she will join the party’s “List.” Ann had an easy-going, loving personality; her family will miss her and her beautiful laugh so much. We love you.
She is survived by her sisters Lola Potter and Joyce Hainline; son James Butterfield (Amantha Sierra); grandchildren Ryon Butterfield (Michelle), Nicole Thiemann (James), Heidi Contreras (Izzy), Amantha Waetje (Ian), Michael Sierra (Tressie) and great grandchildren Cesar, Angel, Olivia, Caden, Rylan and Tayva. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank; two brothers, Keith “Jodee” Rogers and Roy Bath; and a sister, Jeanne Kelly.
