Anna Syczyk Palka, 88
North Greenbush – Anna Syczyk Palka, 88, of Willow Lane died Saturday, January 16, 2010, at her residence.
Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Martin ‘Marko’ Syczyk and Fedunka Fil Syczyk and wife of the late Stephen Palka Jr. She was raised in Troy and resided in North Greenbush for the past 61 years and was a graduate of Troy High School.
Mrs. Palka was a homemaker and a life mentor to many. She was active for many years in the North Greenbush Democratic Party and a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church.
She was a green thumb gardener. Her love and care of plants and wildlife, demonstrated kindness and compassion for all living things
Survivors include her children, Stephen Palka III of Wynantskill, Lynda A. (Albert) DeCelle of North Greenbush and Wayne M. (Marlies) Palka of Wynantskill; her grandchildren, Brian Palka, Domino Smotreys, Shawn DeCelle, Shannon (Eric Schwanke) DeCelle, Michael Palka and Kelly (Alan) Gallagher; her great grandchildren, Desirae Anna Smotreys, Nate Smotreys, Mia Skye DeCelle, Shane Wallace DeCelle and Parker Jean Palka and several nieces and nephews and Ladybug. She was predeceased by a brother, John Syczyk and a sister, Julia Parker.
