Anna S. “Joan” Fanelli, 88, widow of Paul J. Fanelli, Sr., formerly

of Bristol, passed away, surrounded

by her children, on Friday, September 5,

2008, at the Southington Care

Center.

 

Mrs. Fanelli was born August 20, 1920 in Bristol,

daughter of the late Frank and Catherine (Rogala) Sakowski. A lifelong resident

and member of St.

she joined her husband at Crown Oil Company, Inc.. Following Paul’s death in

1979, she became President of the family business and remained active in its

operation working with her children until her recent illness.

 

Mrs. Fanelli is survived by her three children, Paul Fanelli,

Jr. and his wife Marilyn, Catherine Guerriere and her husband Richard, and

Deborah Yarde and her husband Bruce, all of Bristol; her six grandchildren Mark

Fanelli, Christine Fanelli, Richard P.  Guerriere,

Michael Guerriere and his wife Lindsay, Ryan Yarde and Kyle Yarde; her two

great-grandchildren, Maria and Matthew Guerriere; her sister, Helen Sakowski of

Southington, her sister-in-law, Helen Fanelli of Bristol; several nieces and

nephews.

She was pre-deceased by her four brothers and two sisters,

Charles Sakowski, Frank Sakowski, Jr., Joseph Sakowski, John Sakowski, Agnes

Baillargeon, and Rose Spinelli.
